App download

Why is my app finishing downloading but immediately after it shows that it needs downloaded again? I haven’t even started the game yet and it won’t stop downloading over and over again.

Hi there Personishere,

Let's work together to get your apps downloaded into your iPhone. To start, we'd like to rule out some possible causes, along with better understanding what's happening:

  1. You mentioned this occurs when you try to download a game app, but which app is it?
  2. Does this occur with any app you try downloading?
  3. If you have a compatible model, the latest version is iOS 15.0.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  4. Let us know if the issue remains after you Restart your iPhone.
  5. How much available internal storage do you have? You can check this within Settings > General > iPhone Storage.

Have a good one!

Hello Personishere,

For your app issue, it seems to be narrowed down specifically to only the app you mentioned as other apps have no issues.

While being up to date is one step we still recommend, we also always recommend backing up your iPhone prior to installing any updates. We'd like to provide two resources that may help with the back up issue you're having:

  1. If you can't back up to iCloud
  2. If you can't back up your iOS or iPadOS device to a computer or restore it from a backup

Regarding that game app not downloading, but other apps have no issues, we recommend trying the steps here: If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or iPad We know this article is better suited if no apps were downloading at all, but we still recommend trying the steps you haven't yet taken from this link.

Take care!
