I am having problems trying to watch everything on the TV with the Apple TV app.

Do check if TV system software/firmware updates are available. Especially for new TVs.

What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
I have similar problem but I can watch one program without any problems but not all programs. For example I can watch The Morning Show but I cannot watch Truth Be Told or Mr. Coreman
