I have put a large amount of photos onto an external hard drive and am trying to permanently delete them from my iMac. Can't find the Recently Deleted Album anywhere. Trying to clear hard drive space.
iMac 27″, macOS 10.13
There won't be a recently deleted album until you have deleted some images out of the photos app.
Select the images (in photos) you want to delete then image>delete (or press delete key).
Then go to the recently deleted folder and remove them from there.
BE VERY sure that you have everything you are deleting on the externa drive - and ideally with an additional backup. Once you remove them from recently deleted, they are gone forever - no recovery possible.
