Just bought a Mac Air need to erase my MacBook Pro Hard Drive

You’re basically going to be following what you can of the following:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support


The following suggests booting Recovery with Command (⌘) and R, but I’d suggest using Option and Command and R to get the latest version for the Mac:

Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac - Apple Support


Above assumes an Intel Mac.
