I have iPhone 6. Have not been updated since 12. Is there something i can do or do I need a new phone?

The iPhone 6 cannot be updated or upgraded past iOS 12.5.5.
It simply doesn’t have the necessary hardware for iOS 13 or beyond.
I’m sorry if that’s not what you wish to hear.
iOS 13 to 15 require at least an iPhone 6s. If you're trying to update to 12.5.5, describe what happens in this thread.

That phone is obsolete. It is not capable of running a later version of iOS.
It's time to upgrade.
