iPhone 13 mini volume lowers by itself
My wife’s new phone keeps lowering the volume and brightness without her doing anything to cause that. Is there some setting to control this?

When does she experience the phone lowering the volume? Can she provide an example? Be as precise as possible about what is happening.
As far as brightness is concerned, there is an auto-brightness setting on the iPhone, that will dim the screen based on the surrounding light. The setting is Settings>Accessibility>Auto-Brightness. Turn that on.
