I am trying to update my MacBook Air to the MacOS Monterrey and it keeps asking for me to login in as administrator, when I use my password for apple it won't do anything. Is that a different email?

Hi melig007,

Your administrator password is the password you use to log in to your Mac (not your Apple ID).

If you forgot that password, you can reset it:
