when i open pages it no longer brings up my documents

when i open pages my documents no longer come up. Is this due to the latest update to iOS?

iMac 27″, macOS 12.0

When you launch Pages, it will open the Template chooser. If all you want do is open a file, then select File menu > Open… and choose your existing document from the File chooser.
