My AirPods stopped reading my messages?

I’ve gone through al of the troubleshooting steps that involve my settings being turned on but my airpod pros do not read my texts to me. They’ll ding and then pause for a few seconds but Siri does not read them and then my music starts at normal volume again.

TheeJane,

Let's go ahead and follow Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to update to iOS 15.2 and see if that helps at all. If not, follow How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro to reset your AirPods.

Let us know if that helps.

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, TheeJane.

We see that you're having some trouble with announcing notifications. We've got some questions to better understand what's going on.

•Which device and OS version are you using on the device you're paired to?

•Are you able to see the settings for announcing the notifications?

•Are other types of notifications announced?

We look forward to your response.
