New iCloud Terms and Conditions?

I'm running Catalina on my iMac. I repeatedly am getting a message that "To use iCloud on this Mac you must accept the new Terms and Conditions." I do so (by checking the box and clicking "Accept," but the message doesn't go away. Anyone have a suggestion about how to deal with this problem?

Have you used iCloud on this Mac previously? Have you made any recent changes to your Mac? 


Please use the steps in the section titled “Restart your Mac” here: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support Once your Mac has fully restarted, are you able to accept the terms and conditions? If not, please use the steps here to start in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support Are you able to accept the terms and conditions?

Hello green500,


Unfortunately nothing that the materials you provided me worked to make my iMac accept my “acceptance of the new Terms and Conditions.” Although it seems excessive, you suggest I may need to reinstall my macOS. I don’t know how to do that, and will call Apple Support when I have more time to talk through it with a person on the other side of the phone. Thank you for trying.

We didn’t recommend reinstalling your macOS. We recommend signing out of your Apple ID in System Preferences on your Mac and then sign in again to see if you’re able to accept the terms and conditions. If no issue resolution, we recommend contacting Apple Support here: Apple - Support - Product Selection
