I am unable to delete apps from my phone. When I tap an app and hold it gives me the option to delete it from the home screen. When I go to the app library, tap an app and hold it, it only gives me the option to share the app, but not to delete it. How do I delete an app from my phone?

Hi there.
Make sure that the app you are trying to delete is not part of the system software, such as settings or the camera.
Many apps on iPhone can be deleted, however, certain apps can't.

Based on the sequence of steps needed to do change that setting, there's no way it was done in error. It must've been some sort of glitch in the operating system when I recently transferred from an older phone to the iPhone 13.
Based on the incredible number of posts here similar to yours, I would suggest that it is indeed a setting that somehow was changed with an Apple update. Now that we have found the fix, it should be fine.

Thanks! That was the issue. It's interesting that Apple would make that the default settings on the phone and then make it difficult to intuitively find how to change that setting.

It is not a default setting to not be able to delete an app. It was either enabled by someone or in error while looking at settings of the device.
