How can I get my battery to charge?

It isn't the power adapter. My husband has the same MacBook Pro as mine. I tried his power adapter on my computer - didn't charge. Tried my power adapter on his computer, and it did charge.It must be the battery - hopefully nothing else. Thanks!

I did both an SMC reset and a PRAM reset, and my computer started charging and it is now working normally.
