Unwanted photos saved.

How do I stop photos that are sent to me through messenger from automatically being saved to my photos. This just stared happening. The photos also a little messenger box in the lower left-hand corner.

Your iPhone probably has “Shared with You” set to ON for photos in Messages.

Open Settings ➡️ Messages ➡️ Shared with You ➡️ Photos: Set this to OFF. This will prevent shared photos from Messages to end up in your photo album.
