Can't close screenshot window

I can't close the window that comes up after I take a screenshot and click on the screenshot preview. Nothing happens when I click the x in the upper left hand corner, when I click done, or when I click the garbage button. Also, there's no force quit option to close this window. This is the window to which I reference. Thank you

Try the ESC key - works fine here that way.

If you can't close the window then shutdown the computer by depressing and holding the Power button until the Mac shuts down.

If this problem recurs, try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.
