Welcome Miralea,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you'd like to get rid of a grey bar at the top of your MacBook Air.

Where are you seeing this grey bar on the screen exactly? If you take a screenshot of this, are you able to see it within this screenshot? Here's how to take a screenshot on your Mac: Take a screenshot on your Mac

If you see the grey bar in the screenshot, then we'd recommend to restart the Mac normally: Log out, sleep, restart, or shut down your Mac

Do you see the grey bar during start up before the login screen? If so, then you're likely experiencing a hardware issue.

If you do not see the grey bar in the screenshot, then you are also likely experiencing a hardware issue.

In case you need to seek an inspection: Mac Service and Repair

Get prepared for your visit: Get your Mac ready for service

Select your region and search nearby for locations: Find Locations

Due to the current conditions around the world, some stores may have limited hours or appointment times. They also may require specific things to visit them (Such as, scheduling an appointment, wearing a mask, calling to check-in, etc.).

Lastly, if you've rebooted and the grey bar still appears, but also in the screenshot; please reply back with any additional information you may have about the issue.

Wishing you well, take care.
