Fan kicking too soon.

I have a new MacBook Pro that I have connected to a UAD Apollo Twin DUO. Shortly, within 1min, the cooling fan kicks soon after I start to record a voice-over project. This is a nuisance noise that is not wanted on my recordings. How do I prevent the fan from coming on so soon?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 11.6

M Macs no longer have an option to reset the system management controller (SMC) but it has been suggested to shut down, leave it off for 30 seconds, reboot.

If you disconnected the UAD then shut it down and restarted does it still do this? Does it do this with the MacBookPro plugged in, does it do it with the MBP running on battery? are you using the correct cable or converter?
