updating my macbook air 2017

when i try to update my macOS Sierra to a newer version it doesn't show any update options. i have tried emptying out space on my mac and still nothing. please help me

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey. They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the Updates list.


Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To check other programs, click here and look them up.
