I have OSx Yosemite and I need to update , because nothing is working. Everytime I try to update it says I can't because I am not updated. When I go to the App Store it says there are no update available.

It is maddening. How can I update to OSX 10.11 or the newest update? I have a Macbook Pro ( Retina, 13 inch, Early 2015)

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on El Capitan, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey. They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the Updates list.

Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To check other programs, click here and look them up.
