Everytime I use my iMac to do very simple tasks, mostly web browsing, my iMac lags and is very slow. I've tried clearing the cache on the browser and it helps for a short time and then starts lagging again. I get the rainbow spinning circle quite often. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to cut down on the lag? The iMac was purchased in 2014.

I ended up switching to Firefox and things seem to be running smoother.
