Working remotely

I need to work from home. I am trying to access my work network from my MacBook Pro on my home network. I tried using Remote Login but the address I get for my work computer doesn't have an actual IP number. When I use terminal and type in the address given, it says "nodename nor servname provided, or not known." I tried entering the ssh username@IPaddress but it times out. What am I missing?

Conytact your workplace IT staff. Maybe you don't have the correct ip address. Maybe they are not sharing the resources you need access to. Maybe you need to make a VPN connection to the workplace network. Maybe ...
