FCPX 10.6.1 png exporting with black background - how to fix?

Hi all, I saw a thread on this from a while ago... never had an issue with this in my previous version of FCPX 10.4.6, but now in 10.6.1 on an M1 Mac Mini, I seem to be unable to export a png from a keyed image without the background appearing black. Have tried tiff, png, psd all with the same results, all with black background. Any ideas how to bering the transparency back?

Thank you!

Press Command-J to open the project inspector, then click Modify. Change the Render format to ProRes 4444.

Then you should get a png export with transparency.

If that doesn’t work immediately, also delete all the project render files.
