Re-sync Apple Watch after phone upgrade

Hi, I’m just wondering if you have an Apple Watch paired to a previous phone and you get new phone upgrade, what’s the procedure for re-syncing to new phone. Does it happening automatically when restore iPhone from backup via iCloud or iTunes ?

Apple Watch sync Hello, I recently bought a new iPhone as my old one got broken. I can no longer use/access the old phone unfortunately, it is not repairable. I need to pair my watch with my new phone but it looks like, from my online research, to be able to do that I need to erase the watch first -> it’s not possible to sync one watch with multiple phones. I don’t want to lose any data on my watch, so I would like to know how if there’s a way to sync the watch with the new iphone without erasing it. Any help/guidance will be appreciated.
