How do I save a photo in Apple Photos on my Macbook, to my Macbook harddrive

So I'm working in Photos on my Macbook Pro. How do I open a photo in Photos on my Macbook, then save that photo to my desktop or other location on my Macbook hard drive. It seems like it would be as easy as clicking 'download' like in Google Photos, but evidently not. Any help appreciated!

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

Go to File->Export ->Export 1 Photo or Export Unmodified Original if you want to keep whatever the original file format was, such as RAW.
