My watch is no longer connected to my phone

After working out last night I noticed my workout from my watch did not show up on the fitness app on my phone. So I went to my watch app and it asked if I wanted to pair a device, like my watch was never connected. When I tried to pair my watch it told me that it couldn't connect my watch because it was already connected to a device (my phone).....but it's not, so I completely removed the watch from my phone to connect but it is stil saying it can not connect my watch to my phone because it is already connected to a device....but it's not :( Help
