How do I put the grey square (icon) on the ipad Home Screen so it is there all the time and I don’t need to swipe down to get to it?

I believe you make reference to the iOS/iPadOS Assistive Touch features:

You don’t. You have to swipe down to see the control center.
No on my ipad i see it permanently as a light grey square…- no swiping. but I don’t know how i did that. Someone else wants to do the same thing and I can’t help him
Is your iPad jailbroken? I’ve never seen that as a feature.
No it isn’t jail broken, but I like the ‘feature’ just don’t know how I got it.
