When I click on software update nothing happens with my Mac

Hello- I need to update my macbook air. I have the OS x Yosemite and i'm guessing it needs to be updated to a different macOS operating system? However when i click on software update nothing comes up. It says i need 10.11.4 or later. HELP.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and depending on which MacBook Air model you have, click on El Capitan, High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey.

Catalina and newer won't run 32-bit software; download and use Go64 to scan for it. To check other programs, click here and look them up.
