My Mac is telling me there is a software update. When I go in to update, it just continually checks for updates. I've tried turning keep my Mac up to date off. I've tried restarting and shutting it down. Any advice?

There is an update for macOS 11.6.3, that will appear as Other… beneath the primary Monterey upgrade entry on the Software Update panel. From Apple () menu > About This Mac, do you have 11.6.2, or is it really 11.6.3 now? About an hour after 11.6.3 is installed, Other… will appear again offering to install Safari 15.3.
In System Preferences > Software Update > Advanced… does that panel look like mine?

Yes I saw those updates. If I remember correctly, it installed those first before the Monterey upgrade.
About this Mac? It says 11.6.2.
In system preferences, all of mine are checked.
If About This Mac is showing 11.6.2, then no macOS 11.6.3 update, nor Monterey 12.2 upgrade has occurred. In Software Update Advanced… if you don't want new updates to be downloaded (before you request them), then uncheck that particular item. Otherwise, no big deal.
I tried shutting it down, unplugging it and restarting it like it said for an Intel Mac.
I went into Safe Boot mode. I tried updating from there under my name and under the guest. It did the same thing.
It's not just you; at least one of my Macs has been "Checking for updates" all day. I think Apple's servers are simply overwhelmed given the number of security updates released for many different products this morning.

Give it another day or so.
My problems persisted on other Macs but eventually resolved themselves after another day or two. I would have expected things to return to normal by now.
Try leaving your Macs up and running for a few days.

Otherwise, your Wi-Fi appears up, and I cannot explain why Software Update is confused after the reboots that you mentioned.
I do want the updates. That is the problem. See how it continually checks for updates? It never quits. It just spins.
Correction in system preferences - advanced. The first two and last one are checked.

The updates began downloading after a reboot.
Any new news? Mine is still "Checking for Updates." I have been shutting mine down nightly and still no change.
