Mac Os Update

I run OS 10.11 (El Capitan). I will like to update to (High Sierra) 10.13 but when I go to updates It says “No updates available”. Before I attempt an update, what does that mean? My imac is (Mid 2011).

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.11

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on High Sierra. It's a full-version upgrade and won't appear in the Updates list.

To check the programs, click here and look them up.
