Self assigned IP address/internet won’t work

My MacBook automatically connects to my home internet and the internet at my job but for whatever reason I am always struggling to actually get the internet working. Anyone get this before? If so, how do you fix it? It’s been like this for the last week and I use my laptop for work.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.2

Try using Locations in Network Preferences vice Automatic. Use one location for work and another for home. For instructions see:

BTW, there was not need to redact the IP address since I suspect it started with 169. There is no way anyone can do anything with it. Same for other internal IP address like thos starting with 192
