iMessage text disappearance

Has anyone had all texts disappear from iMessage on both party’s phones at the same time? Both iPhones. Different plans. Trying to figure out what happened. Lost all texts on both phones.

The only possibility is both have used the same Apple ID and had turned on Messages in iCloud.
