Hi, lost my iphone, got a new iphone and now trying to pair the watch to it. Got the whole watch software needs updating before pairing can continue, I hit the update button but it keeps throwing me out and unpairing the watch...then i start again and the same thing over and over again?

A solution that has worked before is if you can find an iphone that is running ios12 then you pair the watch to that phone and update it as far as you can,then unpair it and pair it with your present phone and update it again to the latest WatchOS.
Failing this I would suggest you contact support here and see if they can help;

You need to remove the watch from your last phone first;
From a web browser,sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID.
Go to Find iPhone.
Click All Devices at the top of the screen.
Click your Apple Watch.
Click Erase [device]. Select Next until the device is erased.
Click Remove from Account.
Then go here;

No, because I lost the phone a few days ago. I have since removed the watch and that old phone from my find my iphone etc.?
What model of watch is it and what version of WatchOS is it running?.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried?.
Watch is 4..cant tell you what watch OS was running as I cant get past the pairing stage
Other than resetting etc, unpairing and trying again....havent tried anything else
Tried all that.....it still starts pairing, says the software is old on the watch and whatever option I try, it unpairs and kicks me out
