I can not reset my Apple watch.

I am trying to pair my Apple watch with my new iphone. It continues to ask for my passcode, which appears to be incorrect. I have tried the apple reset BUT the watch continues to ask for the passcode and continues to talk. I can get my watch face but nothing beyond passcode, time and the voice. Hasa anyone else had this problem?
