Connecting iMac and Macbook Air for dual monitors?

What cables etc. would I need to connect an iMac (24 in., M1, 2021) with a Macbook Air (M1, 2020) to have both as monitors? Thanks for your help!

Using a cabled connection in Target Display Mode, is no longer supported by new Mac's.

If you want or need a larger display for your MacBook Air, then you will need to buy an aftermarket display.

There are also network based options like Screen Sharing, AirPlay and the pricy Luna Display, but they are not the same as having a connected external display.
