Trackpad sticks on my MacBook Pro and if I press Esc top release, it won't select anything. On train with urgent deadline! Help!

If your trackpad is physically sticking, that's a mechanical fault requiring an Apple Hands-on evaluation.
You can use a mouse, wired or wireless in emergencies although getting one on a train is likely going to be pretty hard.
