The following from Studio Display - Technical Specifications - Apple indicates only 2018 and later

Compatibility

Studio Display is compatible with the following Mac models running macOS Monterey 12.3 or later:

Also, the 2014 MacMini only supports up to 4K resolution at only 30 Hz.
