Can not type "sc" to begin a word in the search bar in Safari on New MacBook Air

Every time I try to search for something in safari that begins with the letters "sc" like science or score, the search goes blank as soon as I hit the letter "c". I have tried in SAFE mode and tried resetting the SMC. So far nothing works. Any ideas?

Right after I typed this, I found the solution. I cleared all the history in Safari. That was it and everything is working fine. Sorry to bother.
