Tiny dot scratches on MacBook Pro 14 inch screen

I also have micro dots on the screen of my kind of new MacBook Pro 14. Apple should make a recall on the laptops, the screen cover is so delicate, I don't want to thing how it would look in 3 years from now.

It's not a dead pixel, it's a tiny dot/scratch on the screen protection layer which it's not glass anymore. You can feel it and using a magnification glass you can actually see the penetration in the screen top layer.

I will go to Apple lab next week and see what they have to say.

I asked about this in a prior post. These tiny dots are only visible in sunlight when the Macbook is shut down. When the computer is on, you cannot see these tiny dots. I appreciate this forum to see if others have had these problems. Thank you.

If there is an issue, it would be considered a hardware issue and needs visible inspection—nothing can be done on-line here.

Dead pixels are a known occurrence and required no outside action to appear. They are the result of less than perfect screen manufacturing. Most screen sellers have a policy regarding these defects. Usually there is a threshold number (cluster of 3 in most cases it seems) and they are considered only if in the direct line of viewing in a defined central area of the screen.

Apple knows of this; they happen with all makes and models and are nothing new.

The only viable approach is to have Apple do a physical evaluation of the appearance. If they meet apple's warranty acceptance criteria, you'll get warranty work. If out of warranty, the cost to repair (replace really) falls on then owner.

If you feel your Mac has been physically damaged, you need to have Apple evaluate it hands-on.
