Hi Apple Support! In the past, I delete certain messages from my iPhone but they remain on my iPad. Now for whatever reason the messages are being deleted off of both devices. What do I need to do to get it back to the way it was?

Until recently, I could delete a text message from my iPhone 13 Pro & keep that message on my iPad. Now all of a sudden, it deletes the messages off both devices. How do I fix it this issue to get back to how it was originally?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 15

If you don’t wish to synchronise iMessage between your devices, simply disable Messages in iCloud:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > Messages - set to OFF
