Again, you need a simple passthrough adapter to connect it directly to the Mac. This is not an insurmountable "problem", it just requires a adapter that works. Not all hubs and docks work with Monterey, apparently a good many don't, and it's the responsibility of the device maker to make it work with Monterey, not the other way around.


Likewise, it's the responsibility of the user to use a compatible accessory and/or adapter.


This works beautifully on our Five Mac (2015 -2020) and adds much needed length to the SuperDrive cable: USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple
