I had an old MacBook air with microsoft 365 bought a new MacBook air and had to purchase the 365 for it. how do i get the files from the old to the new one?

The current version of Microsoft Office is compatible with previous versions. It will open files that were created with the older version of Office.

The are many ways to move files from an older Mac to a newer one. One option is Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support
