Why is my iPad “dying” at 30-49% ?

This only started today, yesterday it was working fine and I could use it down to 1% but today it’s doing this. I’ve tried multiple force restarts and nothing works. I use it, it gets down to 30-45% it “dies” and then I charge it and it’s up to like 58%. Nothing has been working and it’s really frustrating, I’m just trying to work on a project and it’s annoying that it just “dies” in the middle of me working. I also don’t have the money at the moment to buy a new iPad. I got it in 2020 and I don’t think it’s worth it to just get rid of a perfectly fine ipad.

iPad, iPadOS 15

Reading the troubleshooting steps you already performed, it might be a hardware (battery? other internal component?) failure but we, just users like you, cannot diagnose that kind of issue remotely, sorry.

I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly (they have tools to run remote diagnostics), using this link:--> Get Support, or make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Regards

Giulio

It is a little hard to help/advise you when you provide little to NO useful information about your iPad.

Here are my questions to you.

Can you, please, confirm what year and model iPad do you have/own?

The “A” model number can be found on the aluminium back of your iPad, in very small print, right under the larger bold print “iPad” on the back of the iPad.

What iOS/iPadOS version is this iPad, currently, running?

What is the rated, internal data storage space/capacity of your iPad model and how much of this free, internal data storage capacity is left inside of your iPad model?

All of that additional info can be found in the Settings app, General settings panel, About.

Please try to make an attempt to answer all questions asked.

Thank You.
