Yes, that how “Edit” behaves. It assumes you wish to alter your existing card, which is not your situation at all.

As I said in my initial post above:

I have been following the thread on "changing payment method" the replies only go so far. I have been trying for days to change my payment method and have only gotten frustrated. There is no way to add a new method or delete an old one. The "edit" button does nothing. You can't ADD A VALID PAYMENT METHOD AND THEN REMOVE THE OLD ONES as suggested. I am using an iPhone 6s. is there a fix for this? My phone is now full and won't function right.

You’re at the wrong starting point to find an “Edit” button. Start as the article I linked above indicates. Or consider tapping “<Back” in your screenshot.

I've tried everything that was suggested. I t keeps routing me back to"change method of payment." Back at square one
