Documents Folder is Missing from my Home Folder?

Over the past week or so my documents folder went missing from my home folder.

Documents only showed up in iCloud. Maybe after the recent update?

How do I get my documents folder back into my home folder?

In the meantime, I have copied all my documents from iCloud and made a folder to put them in so I can find them.

Appreciate anyone's help with this.

Edit: Okay now, this is crazy but my desktop folder is missing too! And I have files showing on my desktop??

What's happening?

If you turned on Store Document and Desktop folder in iCloud as this Support article:

Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive - Apple Support

Then those folders are automatically hidden from your home folder. They are there and you can show/hide hidden files by pressing Command+Shift+. (period key). The trivial way of accessing those folders stored in iCloud is through iCloud locations in the side bar.
