Hi. I cannot log into my Macbook Air. When I type the letters of my password it recognizes it, but as soon as I want to type in any special characters, it doesn’t recognize it/want to take it. I’ve restarted my laptop numerous times with no luck. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
# and @ and any of the special characters you get when pressIng the contr button with the numbers at the top of the keyboard. All the numbers and letters are working, but it doesn’t want to take the special characters.
it just makes a beep sound when I try to type them.

You have to use use Shift (and not Control) to make those characters. Is that what you are doing?
