MacBook Air running macOS xx?

I get the message that " MacBook Air is not supported". Both my iPhone and McBA have the latest updates.

I don't want to use.a cable and I, formerly, didn't need to use a cable to transfer the photos. Apple seems to have done something but I suppose they'll sell a lot more cables.
