Empty Photo Albums

Has anyone else had photos disappear from albums that were created in MacBook?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Is it possible you have opened a different library?

Hold down the option key while starting photos - is more than one library listed? If so, open each in turn until you find the one with the correct albums.
