Has anyone found a way to do this without manually changing album names to start with letters of the alphabet, or manually dragging them around? In 2022, it seems like incredibly low hanging fruit to allow a simple alphabetic sorting, especially when it can be done in the Photos app on the MacBook.

Disregard. Turns out sorting by alpha on the desktop Photos app carries the setting through to Photos on the devices. I should have just waited for the apps to update.
