iCloud mail is an apple id already signed in Mac system preferences , to login in with www.icloud.com use a web browser and enter Apple ID address click on continue with password , you have to enter admin password the iCloud account is accessed .

Further reset Apple ID password If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
