does the migration assistant create a new profile when it's run?

I'm completely new to a Macbook and I transferred my information from a PC using the Migration Assistant. Does the Migration Assistant create a new profile once it has completed the transfer? I now have 3 user profiles. I just deleted 1, which was starting me from the very beginning, as if I had just opened the Macbook for the first time. I now have 2 user profiles of me. How do I determine which one I used for the migration?
