Someone using my email for their appleid

Someone else is trying to use my email address to create an Apple ID. Do I need to do anything to prevent this?

I would change the password on your email account. I order to use an email to make an AppleID, someone has to be able to read and respond to your email, meaning they’d need your email account login to get and respond to the verification email to complete making the AppleID.

So make sure your email is secure. If the email provider offers two factor authentication (e.g. Google and others do), you should turn that on.
